Get the Right Size Skates

Finding the right size skates can be problematic owing to the various sizing manufacturers use to scale their shoe size. At Quad-Skates.co.uk, we are more than confident we know the sizing of all our skates.

Since Bauer was owned by Nike from 1995-2008, amongst loads of product improvements, they standardised the sizing arrangement of all Bauer skates, aligning sizing to Nike UK trainer sizes.

This means when you purchase a pair of Bauer Quad Skates, you’re guaranteed a good level of fit for regular feet.

Nike box-sizing isn’t too difficult to follow. If you wear a UK 7 Nike trainer, you’ll need a Bauer box size 7. Inside the box is a UK7.5 UK equivalent trainer size. This extra half size allows for your foot to get warm while skating and expand slightly – this is a benefit to Quad Skaters – the boot is traditionally worn slightly looser than an Ice Skate.

If you’re not too sure about your foot measurement, we recommend measuring both feet from heel to toe. Stand on a page of A4 paper (A3 paper if you have big feet {jokes}) and mark where your heel and toe rest. Take the piece of paper and measure the distance between.

The table below shows the standard Nike UK (and European) sizing chart with measurements in centimeters.

Don’t forget - when choosing a pair of Quad-Skates to allow for a little bit of room when you skate. Your foot gets really warm when skating and if the boot is too small, it will pinch and cause discomfort when skating.
